Borussia Dortmund made it official on Sunday. Ciro Immobile will initially be loaned out for €3 million to FC Sevilla – with an obligation to buy (another €9 million), as it is reported by the German news network Sky Sport News. A transfer deal, that seems to be one for the accountants.
Now all parties have certainty and it’s a deal that should satisfy everyone involved as well. With a hopefully good season in Sevilla, Immobile will raise his market value, which will be profitable for Borussia Dortmund in the next summer. It remains to be seen whether BVB will look for another striker on the transfer market, or if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Adrian Ramos and Marvin Ducksch will suffice for the season, bearing in mind that Thomas Tuchel might play either Marco Reus or Henrikh Mkhitaryan as false nine on some occasions. Borussia Dortmund have been linked with Adem Ljajic and Camilo Zuniga, but these are very speculative and unlikely rumors.
There is still a lot of hope on Marvin Ducksch, who is still sidelined with a fractured foot. Depending on how the season develops, he might be the profiteer of the Immobile-transfer.
