Borussia Dortmund midfielder Emre Mor joins Spanish club Celta de Vigo after one season in Germany.
Mor, 20, leaves BVB after just one season after asking Dortmund for a transfer. The Turkish international, who joined Dortmund from Danish club FC Norsjaelland in 2016 after having only played in 13 professional matches, made 19 appearances for the Black and Yellows, including three UEFA Champions League matches.
The youngster requested a wish to leave the club in the hope of finding more playing time elsewhere. Mor was in the starting lineup on six occasions across competition in the recent year.
“We have respected this request and wish Emre all the best for the future,” Michael Zorc said as per the club’s official website.
Dortmund purchased midfielder for a fee of €8m in 2016 and resold him for a reported fee ranging between €13m and €14m.
Although Mor’s raw talent is obvious, he still needs to improve his tactical awareness before reaching the level that is required to consistently play for Borussia Dortmund. Given that playing time is valuable for his own development, a move away from the Westfalenstadion after only one season seems like the right decision.
