Henrikh Mkhitaryan has agreed personal terms with Manchester United after talks with his representative and will undergo a medical this week, while Dortmund and United are close to settle on a fee over the transfer of the 27-year-old midfielder.
Journalist Raphael Honigstein reports that Dortmund have sent an official to Manchester in order to finalise the deal. According to Gianlucadimarzio.com, Manchester United is ready to offer €38 million to Dortmund, an amount that could satisfy BVB. Last week the club reportedly refused a €36 million bid, while Ruhr Nachrichten claimed Dortmund were holding out for €39.5 million.
Mkhitaryan has been regularly linked with United. Mkhitaryan’s agent, Mino Raiola, said last week: “Manchester is Mkhitaryan’s dream club.”
The midfielder has a year left on his Dortmund deal but is set to move to the Premier League rather than sign a new contract. Mkhitaryan joined Dortmund in 2013 from Shakhtar Donetsk for €27.5 million. He scored 18 goals and got 25 assists last season for BVB and was named the Bundesliga Players’ Player of the season.
