Borussia Dortmund announced that midfielder Ilkay Gündogan will be out for months due to dislocated knee-cap. The 25-year-old will not only miss the German cup final, but will also not be able to compete at the EURO tournament in France, as he cannot recover in time to be included in Joachim Löw’s final squad. Gündogan, who had missed several matches after the winter break with a bruised foot, injured his knee in training while playing basketball.
He already missed out on the World Cup in 2014. The midifielder has bounced back from multiple injuries, including a back problem that cost him more than a year of action.
Recently, the 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester City, where he would team up with incoming coach Pep Guardiola.
