According to Gianluca Di Marzio, FC Liverpool are interested in signing Ciro Immobile.
He could be a good fit for Brandon Rodger’s side and for the right price Dortmund will definitely let him go. Heck, it could be a good deal for all parties involved. The Italian striker, who finished top scorer of the previous Serie A campaign only managed three Bundesliga goals so far and hasn’t started a league match since the beginning of February. He grabbed a few minutes here and there as a late substitute, but hasn’t really played a role in Klopp’s plans. Immobile surely isn’t pleased with his situation in Dortmund. Bild reported in February, that Immobile has put his €1.3 million luxury villa on the market. The sell-by date is the 1st of August, so everything is pointing to a transfer in the summer.
Unless Thomas Tuchel will throw in his veto, Dortmund will look to sell him and cut their losses. There is probably a lot of potential in the Italian striker, but currently he isn’t fitting in. After this season, there is hardly an argument to put a huge price tag on his name.
So far it’s only a rumor of course, but Borussia Dortmund have are planning a minor overhaul and Immobile is likely to be one of the candidates. £ 12 million is a realistic fee for the striker, who Liverpool apparently target to replace Mario Balotelli with. Immobile certainly has the qualities to play in the Premiere League, after all he has shown glimpses of what he is able to do in BVB’s Champions League campaign, scoring four goals in seven matches.
We’ll see how it develops. FC Liverpool fans have always been keen to get their hands on a Borussia Dortmund player in the recent years, maybe that wish will be fulfilled this summer.
