After regional newspaper Ruhrnachrichten and Dortmund’s local radio station Radio 91.2 double checked their sources, they reported that Marco Reus and Borussia Dortmund found common ground in their negotiations.
It’s been reported that Marco Reus is willing to prolong his until 2017 running papers and make a long-term-commitment to Borussia Dortmund. As Ruhrnachrichten report, the release clause (28 million euros) in Reus’s contract will expire by the end of April, but both parties intend to have things settled earlier.
Though there is nothing official about the Dortmund stars’s future yet and it remains to be seen whether a contract extension will be made official by the end of February. Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke told Ruhrnachrichten on Monday “I wont comment on the current status. We’ve put our cards on the table, the ball is now in Marco’s court.”
It has to be said that the Ruhrnachrichten are serious and reliable source and don’t take much business in spreading transfer rumors. We keep our fingers crossed, that Marco Reus will snub the likes of Real Madrid and remain in Dortmund for years to come. It would certainly be a massive coup, if BVB were to pull it off.
