Jürgen Klopp reported on Thursday’s news conference that both Sven Bender and Sebastian Kehl are doubtful ahead of the game against VfL Wolfsburg. It’s only a “slight” worry, but Bender even had to sit out training on Thursday, while Kehl only trained individually. Thankfully, Matthias Ginter has proven himself in defensive midfield, so even if Bender and Kehl don’t make the squad on Saturday, BVB have a good alternative. That’s the depth everyone talked about before the season.
Marco Reus will also finally return on the green. It will be interesting to see in what kind of shape Reus will be in and how much he’ll be able to help out his teammates. The match in Wolfsburg will be a good indicator of what is to come in Berlin, when both sides meet two weeks later in the DFB Pokal final.
