It’s definitely Roberto Firmino’s last season at Hoffenheim, as his agent already confirmed that the play maker is allowed to part ways with TSG by the end of the season. Borussia Dortmund will be one of the many interested suitors. The transfer fee of the Brazilian international is estimated around 25 million euros, as his contract is running out in 2017.
Arsenal have already taken interest in the 23 year old, as well as Manchester United and Liverpool. The playmaker has been improving gradually and is now ready to make the next step. It is no secret that Borussia Dortmund have been monitoring Firmino closely in recent years and he would fit into the team quite well. Without any Champions League to offer next season and the wealthier competition, it will always be a long shot for BVB to lure the Brazilian to the Westfalenstadion.
Firmino has everything a good ’10’ needs. He is fast, he can dribble – and most important he can score and set up goals with his high amount of technical skill. The young Brazilian has a good intuition for spaces that are about to open and has the ability to assume the runs of his teammates. Without a doubt he would be a very suitable replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who isn’t terribly happy in Dortmund and set to leave at the end of this season – if Borussia Dortmund have a replacement lined up. It would be a clever piece of business to trade in Firmino for the Armenian, but it’s not all too likely. Chances are, he will end up playing for a Premiere League side soon.
