Borussia Dortmund won 3-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. Here is what Sokratis Papastathopoulos said after his beautiful goal.
DORTMUND, Germany – Sokratis, one could see that you let out a lot of emotions following your goal. What did was on your mind ahead of the match, during the match and also after your goal?
“Today was also one very difficult moment for us after what we went through this week. But it was easier than on Wednesday because by now we understood what had happened. We said before the game that we have to be concentrated, that we have to live for two hours and go down on the pitch and try to give 100 percent. I think we did well. This was an important win for us.”
“It was very difficult to put everything that we lived through aside, but we have to go on. Life is moving forward. The football gives us the chance to relax our mind.”
What were your feelings after the goal?
“I feel a little bit strange. This goal is for Marc [Bartra] and his family. I hope the time is moving quickly and he returns to the team.”
