FOX have bought the television rights to show Bundesliga football live in the US, and BVB are set to feature heavily as the 2015/16 begins. Significantly, 58 Bundesliga games will be shown live on main channel FOX Sports 1. A further 60 matches will appear on FOX Sports 2 with others on FOX Soccer plus which, as far as we can tell, doesn’t have many providers or subscribers.
With FOX Soccer 2Go each and every game, including Europa League fixtures, will be available live and on demand for $19.99 a month or $99 for a whole year (thanks to @PaceSmasche for the information).
Six of Dortmund’s first seven Bundesliga games will be shown live on FOX Sports across a number of channels, including the first game of the new season. The match against Gladbach is just nine days away!
15th August: BVB – Borussia Mönchengladbach (12:30 FOX Sports 2)
23rd August: FC Ingolstadt – BVB (9:30 FOX Sports 1)
30th August: BVB – Hertha BSC (9:30 FOX Soccer Plus)
12th September: Hannover 96 – BVB (9:30 FOX Soccer Plus)
20th September: BVB – Bayer Leverkusen (11:30 FOX Sports 2)
27th September: BVB – SV Darmstadt 98 (11:30 FOX Sports 2)
(All times shown are Eastern time in the USA, six hours behind local time in Germany.)
The only game which won’t be covered is the clash against TSG Hoffenheim on the sixth matchday, the game is on a Wednesday evening towards the end of September as we have the first ‘English week’ of the season.
BT Sport will continue their dedicated coverage to German football in the UK with new channel BT Sport Europe likely to be used more often than not. BT haven’t revealed their full schedule yet but we expect it to follow the same pattern as previous season with Dortmund shown whenever they are playing any game that isn’t at 15:30 (CET) on a Saturday.
Should this be the case the matches against Gladbach, Ingolstadt, Hertha, Leverkusen and Darmstadt will all feature on BT Sport and you may get the Hoffenheim game thrown in too!
All in all coverage of the Bundesliga is increasing as the league grows in popularity, and fans of Borussia Dortmund will only benefit.
